Why does that matter? If you are in a field that costs a lot it likely pays extremely well at some point.

Sorry just seeing this. I am in a field that pays very well, but would be paid even better if I was in the private sector. I enjoy my job, and am not likely to jump to the private sector after my loans are forgiven.
Oddly enough, I would have paid my loans off in full using the income based repayment system before the 10 year mark, but with the deferment on student loans due to coronavirus I will be able to have a lot of them forgiven. That being said, I pay a ton in taxes every year.
