A few things about Baseball..

1. We have had 3-4 generational players at lsu the past 4 years. Keep in mind Tre hit .450+ as a freshman (+Crews, Skenes, etc).
2. We had guys that had seen multiple AB’s. Think about how many AB’s Dugas, Beloso, Jobert, Morgan, Crews, etc saw at an SEC level.
3. We had amazing performances from a few guys we didn’t expect. Hurd against Oregon State. Ack vs TN. Cooper all CWS. Keep in mind coop walked 6 straight batters against TN on Sunday last year.
4. Jay recruited great players out of the portal. Skenes and White were phenomenal players before they came to LSU, and only elevated their game when they got here.
All this to say, we have a long road ahead. Jay is a heck of a recruiter, we will see if he can develop talent. The verdict is currently out on his development in my opinion.
I have never seen a less clutch baseball team in my life. Seriously. We strand runners every night. Think about PM’s last team, Hilliard was our best arm, and we were so much better. I hope it will come around. Jist my thoughts. Geaux Tigahs.

I don't disagree with your points at all.
The team last season was veteran driven with a lot of leadership and added talent.
I don't want to make rash judgments. I think this team has a lot issues, but I'm not sure the program has a lot of issues.
This season to me is akin to a train that is off the tracks, but still moving while off the rails. That's not a good thing.

By definition this is impossible

Skenes, White, Crews, and Morgan are generational players.

I just can’t wrap my head around White, Milazzo, Trav or Jones stepping up in a leadership role

Laugh if you want. When is the last time a freshman hit over .400 in SEC play??

One year doesn’t make a generational player. Tre wasn’t a JAG. He’s just a nice player in the mold of a Mason Katz
Posted on 4/13/24 at 9:03 pm to TigerFan91
Comparing him to Mason Katz is ridiculous lmao
Posted on 4/13/24 at 9:04 pm to talmaniandevil_25
Brother you might want to look at their career stats. You are right that’s a disservice to Mason
Posted on 4/13/24 at 9:07 pm to TigerFan91
Yeah it’s not, but cool. Katz was a great player, but Tre was a three year starter and and half the reason we won so many games over the past 3 years. Best first baseman we have had in a long time.

Mason was also a three year starter and had a better slash line than Tre in 100 less collegiate at bats. Just insane revisionist history.
Again I’m not shitting on Tre. But he’s not close to generational.
AND Mason won a frick load of games too.
With the worst bats in NCAA history

Huh???? That’s A lot of generational talent on one team.
Generational talent rarely play college baseball.
Ex. Mike Trout. Harper.

Correct. Skenes and Crews were definitely generational. The rest of the guys were good players!
