The 2010 baseball team went 14-16 in conference after the 2009 championship.

Apparently, it’s hard to be good the following year.

I just can't see this team getting there. If we lose tomorrow we'd have go something like 12-3 the remainder of the season. We just don't have the pitching or hitting to go on a run like that.

They also ripped through the conference tournament and went to a regional. That's not happening with this team.

Not always. South Carolina went back to back then were runner ups the 3rd year. Vanderbilt won a natty then were runner ups the next year. There are plenty of teams that have won a national championship and not had a massive drop off the next year.
