Think he always wanted to be more relevant. Dylan like with more rock edge. He can’t write like Dylan. Nobody can really. Worse, he was lumped in with the 80’s MTV fluff of his time. He was one of the heavy rotation MTV artists through all of the 80’s. It made him famous but not as revered. Now he is bitter.

I just went to his show last night in Norfolk, VA. He was pretty damned good for 72, and his band was tight.


He got a little preachy with a speech and a song about the homeless situation in America. Which to me seems a big help would be to vote red instead of blue like he's stupidly done his whole life. He mentioned several places where the situation was the worst, and they were all dimocratic run hell holes for decades.

He played almost everything I wanted to hear with the exception of "Rumble Seat" and "Ain't even done with the night".
