Yeah I think the biggest thing holding this movie back is The Omen connection. Take that out, it stands alone as a decent horror movie

Then don't call it the First Omen. I'm wondering if they are going to restart the franchise again by acting like Omen 3 didn't exist, and have evil Damien battle his twin sister, who they vaguely hinted may be the anti-anti-Christ.
