It’s been a media frenzy today about Holliday getting called up, wearing his Dad’s old number, and numerous pros commenting on how exciting they are to see him. So I decided to look at the box score tonight on the Yahoo app, and the following headline hits me……”Top prospect Jaxson Holliday impresses despite going 0-4”. I know the he kid will be an all pro but jeez…the media is spinning this story like no other

Need more info to make a call. It's certainly possible to go 0-4 and still be impressive. Did he strike out? What were his exit velos? Did he make some nice plays in the infield? Steal a bag? You may be 100% right. But I can't ride with ya without more info.

Struck out twice, grounded out to second base twice. Drove in one run on one of them. Was part of a 4-6-3 DP on defense.

Hmm. Didn't see it, but just reading doesn't make my dick hard.

You can’t judge a young prospect over 1 game or even 10.
Mike Trout had an 0-25+ streak last year or the year before. In 2011, Trout was called up for 40 games & hit .220 with an OPS of .671. The next year, his rookie year, he started Mike Trouting, and ever since that point he’s been the Trout we know & love.
Look @ Greg Maddux’s first 2 seasons in the MLB. ERA of 5.52 & 5.61 respectively. Then his 3rd season, he started Greg Madduxing for a HOF career.
ETA: I’m not saying he’s gonna have a career trajectory like that, but let’s give the kid a chance.

Wasn’t Bregman like 0-40 when he first entered the Bigs?

He was 2-38 in his first 10 games. So yeah, pretty damn close.

Wasn’t able to catch a pop up in shallow right field and a runner from first base scored when his throw back in to home was a rainbow and high.

Baseball is desperate for new stars.
After this Ohtani crap, Im done with baseball. It's a boring sport full of cheaters.
