They moved him to pitcher because the team was in crisis. We had 4 blown arms…….instead of shitting on him maybe realize what he sacrificed to win a championship! He was never developed as an infielder because of the experience in front of him AND we desperately needed pitchers!
I would bet both my hands CJJ regrets not developing him. He thought he had a lock down shortstop transfer.

Ok, so why were we so desperate in the transfer portal for another SS? Jay talked up the pitching depth all offseason. If he was so confident in the pitching depth, why was Guidry not practicing at SS during the spring?

That’s simply not true. We had to go get an average SS from VCU to get literally any depth in the middle infield and we were screwed when Dugas got hurt at 2B. They had absolutely no depth in the infield last year either. He was always going to be a project, I don’t even think he started SS at Barbe.
