Should the day ever come when that terrible SHTF scenario actually comes to pass, we will both be alright. Perhaps we'll even cross paths one day in trade, commerce and mutual cooperation. The world will need stability. Like minded individuals will be able to provide that stability and find a way to live comfortably in coordination, even if distanced and generally isolated.
