Do you just want to sit around outside or use the fire for warmth? When it gets cold, go in your camper/tent and get warm.

Would like both for some warmth and ambience of sitting around. But will end up with one for ambience alone.

Thought about making my own with a lid that raises and sits above it a foot or so that would act as a heat deflector.

Seems like if you could keep all that heat from going straight up and send it more out the sides it would do better heating rocks and radiating heat.
