Anybody doing this? Side effects? Worth it?

I’m currently on Dupixent for polyps. I had sinus surgery in July 2023 after losing taste and smell for 6 months. I didn’t really have chronic sinus infections or any kind of sinus issues besides the taste and smell problem.

My ENT said he found extensive diseased tissue during surgery and then put me on it.

I haven’t had any issues with taste and smell since, but I have had a few sinus infections. The Dupixent is pretty easy to inject though it does hurt like a bitch for a few seconds.

No side effects that I have noticed.

I have to assume the Dupixent is working, but considering I never had chronic sinus issues prior to last year’s taste and smell issue, I’ve been skeptical if I really need it. I also don’t want to take it the rest of my life, but I’m not sure what else to do to avoid having sinus surgery again.

If you are someone who has multiple procedures for polyp recurrence, then definitely would recommend the dupixent.

While many patients notice a benefit in 3-4 weeks, it may take 12 weeks or more before noticeable improvement.

My daughter takes it for severe eczema, been on it almost two years now. Her main side effect was she lost a ton of hair in the first six months. After that it evened out, and has pretty much grown back. Other than that it was a miracle drug.
