great get but the excuses have to stop now. we have the players to be a good bb team

Why not just celebrate a huge recruiting accomplishment instead of throwing in the " yeah but" comment.

It’s a simple logical train of thought. I promise I was one of the most excited fans in regards to the Miller commitment, as I really wanted him prior to his Oregon commitment. But let’s be honest here… the excuses for the McMen are running slim. In regards to the “he needs better players” “he needs to recruit without sanctions” that’s the reality now. We got Miller. I’ve said those things before and I’m not going to use those excuses again. He has a full roster of his players. It’s year 3 (the year everyone said to wait to judge him on), etc. The excuses stop now. It’s time to go out on the court and show improvement. It’s quite funny how bipolar the rant users are. I’ve never seen people go from loving to hating a person solely based on recency bias. With McMahon it’s like the majority of people love or hate him based on the most recent win, the most recent loss, or the most recent recruit. It’s ridiculous.

I will say though that I’ve been extremely optimistic in regards to the program and MBB regulars on TD would second that in a heartbeat. I want nothing more than LSU above all else to succeed. I also really like and respect McMahon as a person but I also have to be a realist and prioritize the program. The excuses have to stop. The SEC is getting stronger. If McMahon doesn’t show improvement next season that’s a problem, and I’d be worried. However I DO still believe in him and I DO think we will improve.

If we recruit good players but it doesn’t translate to the court then there’s no point. I think we have a good roster going into next season and it has to show on the court. Not even necessarily in the wins and losses… but the things we do fundamentally and schematically that show improvement from a programmatic standpoint.
