I was really hoping he would tone back the “red meat for the base” type rhetoric once he was elected, but it appears as though he has higher aspirations than being Louisiana’s governor, everything else be damned.

"the base" it's about the people. The republican base is a cult and criminal organization shielded by the thickness of there skulls and old money. What a bunch of cucks (literally).

Haha, that's what I was hoping and pitching to all the folks who had a foreboding sense of disaster when Trump won in 2016...

Anybody who's paid any attention to all the things he stuck his nose into that were none of the business of a La atty general, to get attention and press coverage, knew this shitshow was coming... Enjoy your governor's disaster while he becomes the next Bobby Jindal or Ron DeSantis!
