They had a peacock on the block I stayed at on Maui. Also saw some Mongoose on Maui over by Hana. Hawaii has all kinds of random animals dropped off/gifted over the years. Many true native animals and vegetation are decreasing and being eliminated through competition. The invasive have to be hunted/eradicated for any true native species to have a chance at future survival

I know this is an endless argument, but Hawaii especially there is nothing native. It’s a lava rock in the middle of the ocean. There may have been firsts, but nothing native. Again, many places can say this I know.
The issue with Hawaii is its tropical and nothing really dies there so anything that ends up there for the most part thrives.
