Dumb. Louisiana is in trouble. Huge impoverished population. Huge government assistance population. Low high-paying job opportunities. Most educated and capable people leave the state after college. It's in a situation where it's just gonna keep getting worse and there's really nothing you can do about it. I think the racial issues will prevent any real change from happening.

I'll say if you take the brightest from Louisiana and put them against other states Louisiana would do fine.

Where Louisiana lacks is that bottom tier as many understand college is not important and they can make a great living without a college degree.

Personally I know several individuals who never finished college but are earning 200k+ a year working in the plants because they got in and worked their way up. Now, they've earned several certificates during their time but still.

This definitely is an issue.

If there were a lot more high paying corporate jobs, I’m not saying I would have stayed. 75%+ chance I still would have left to go experience something else. But, the lack of good to great jobs has nearly 100% guaranteed I will never be back, which wouldn’t necessarily be the case if there was more opportunity.
