It just takes one of those ten to hear about it from one of their friends. Who could have learned it from one of their friends.

Or by visiting family on a holiday.

You didn’t have the internet and TV wasn’t as prolific. So you talked a lot more about things you heard. And in cases like this when you found it solved a real problem you were more likely to pass it on.
