I mean, Skyrim was a great leap forward with some flaws. Fallout 4 was a mixed bag. 76 was a disaster I think they acknowledge. Starfield had some good elements but overall fell flat, but it was a whole new IP and game system.
It's possible Todd Howard has lost his juice. We'll know when #6 comes out.
