I even tried to watch a few of the "greatest hits" of Sandler, Farley, Spade, etc.. and the stuff just didn't age well. It was probably funnier in high school or college because I was with a group of people, it is just the affect of laughing when other people around
I loved the one of Will Ferrell at the dinner table, and also the one where he was a cheerleader with Cheri Oteri. And him as the old prospector was hilarious.
NEVER, EVER thought Adam Sandler has been funny as an actor, he’s a very good writer though IMO. When he acts it’s just not funny to me, it never has been. Same thing with David Spade. Better as a writer. I can’t even fake laugh at him when he’s trying to be funny. I don’t know what he’s trying to do.
Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, and Dana Carvey were always hilarious to me, but I can see how people could think Chris Farley tried way too hard. Norm MacDonald’s weekend updates were brilliant.
