He was quiet. But no, intentionally or unintentionally, this umpire behind the plate had his finger on the scale. Two SEC games in a row if you look at Sunday. Being quiet is about all you can do……keep improving. And we have improved, considering they used their ace and we pitched whole staff.

I’ll bite - LSU was having a hard time getting balls near the plate much less near the zone.
This ump favored 4’ on the outside, all night long. We just couldn’t capitalize

The ump was inconsistent. And it was both ways. But he favored Arkansas without a doubt. Several times a pitcher would throw three pitches in the same spot and two would be called strikes and one a ball. It was on both sides.

That was the difference IMO. We could not take consistent advantage of that low/low & away spot he was giving ARK (which they pounded all game). Gotta be better behind the plate working and framing to that location, and the pitchers need to recognize what they can get.
Here's to Holman & Jump (along with Ack, Herring & Hurd) pounding the zone today & tomorrow. We're set up nicely to compete and win these next two games.

How can you tell? We couldn’t see the plate.
