We lost our entire lineup not just two players.

While JJ won a national title, I do believe their are multiple coaches in the SEC that could have won a title with Skenes, Crews, White, Morgan, Floyd and other 9 draft picks. It’s not everyday or year you get a generational talent like Skenes, but to have 2 generational talents in the same year is rare. JJ took control of an elite baseball program and a team that was already loaded with talent. While JJ is a very good coach, I do believe players like Skenes, Crews, Morgan and White made him look better than what he may really be.

This year LSU team does have some comparisons to the 2023 Tennessee team. While Tennessee did not win the title in 2022, they did lose their entire starting lineup to the MLB draft like LSU did. Tennessee last year took awhile to get it figured out as Burke was the only returning starter, like Tommy White is for LSU. They started SEC play 5-10, and was swept by Mizzou and Arkansas. While a lot of LSU fans are frustrated so far, just give JJ time to figure out the best lineup. It may take a few more weeks before he figures it out, but as you know, Omaha is not in April and LSU still has enough talent on its team to get hot go on a run to Omaha.

While I have always only cheered for only 1 college team, I have always respected LSU baseball program and the work of Skip. It was truly amazing what Skip Bertman did at LSU, and most likely won’t see that kind of success in baseball ever again or any time soon. He took over a LSU program that was not known for baseball and had only 1 NCAA Tournament Appearances. And then all of sudden 6 years later LSU was a powerhouse and still are to this day.

I would just stay calm right now and not overreact to what LSU record is right now. I have a feeling that LSU will get on a run and be a tough out in the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament. They still have to much to not get it going. Holman may not be a Skenes, but he still is really good, and him and White are capable of leading this team to the post season.

FYI, I am looking forward to the Vols and LSU series in a couple weeks. Always fun and interesting times when those two teams mix it up, regardless if its baseball or Football. Good luck on rest of the season and most of the SEC fan bases will be paying attention to how y’all are doing, regardless of what they say.
