You got St Louis, and then you've got East St Louis with a big bridge over the river between the two. West and east.
Is the Diamond Cabaret still open in E St Louis across the highway from the plant (Monsanto)? Prime rib, baked potato and nekkid wimmin for the $5 lunch special. I've spent more on worse.

In Kansas City and Jefferson City, we say north and south of the river
St Louis and St Joseph are east and west
I bet if New Orleans was in Missouri, people here would say north/south of the river
