Hmmm. I guess you see what you want to see.

And the NFL goes out of their way to draft "well above AVERAGE"

Lol, everything is well above median. But yea, dispute years of facts and data i guess:

Sources: trust me bro!

Maason Smith is a DT prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.40 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 98 out of 1620 DT from 1987 to 2024.

I'm sorry bro! I can't help you. You think all that yellow is going to push him above a mid-third, likely 4th round pick. That's good. Maybe some team does reach.

Fact is, his numbers are NOT elite and his production is far less than that. They don't scream "pick me!"

The NFL will take a player like DH based purely on elite numbers. They will take players with less than ideal numbers but with great production.

MS has little production and non-elite numbers (to everyone but you).

But then, maybe what we have here is a failure to equally assess the definition of elite.

Your dictionary seems to list "above average" as elite where mine does not. That's ok. Honest! It is. People can disagree.

MS very well could go in the third. In the 4th is more likely. I just hope you stay in a safe place if it happens. Bro.

Trevor Penning has a RAS of 9.96. Think that says a a lot about RAS.

That was without shuttle or 3-come results. The same account with full combine results:

Maason Smith is a DT prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored an unofficial 8.99 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 164 out of 1620 DT from 1987 to 2024.

And that is without bench press results. If you add his bench press from today his RAS goes down to 8.47:

I’m not saying 8.47 is bad but it’s a hell of a lot different than the 9.40 you threw out there.

ETA: NFL.com has him with the 8th best athleticism score among DTs in this draft class, without accounting for his bench results. That score would be lower had he benched at the combine.
