I remember after the race was over I turned it off and went to dinner. Came back and the press conference was on. I couldn't believe it.
He should have walked away from that crash. He died because he fricked with his seatbelt.
And then fatass Helton and NASCAR had the nerve to blame Bill Simpson and almost ruin the life's work of one of the pioneers of racing safety because their golden goose was dead.
He sued and they settled out of court, but NASCAR never apologized for the smear job. fricking shameful.
