Yeah my old man stays busier than a lot of employed people and he has been retired for over a decade
I agree that people need purpose
I don't agree that it benefits anyone to pay into a system their entire working life that they're not likely to receive any benefit from

Yep, my dad worked till he was 80 and died at 93, my step dad retired at 55 and died at 92
