So much hardheaded, old school ignorance. A company demanding onsite is just handcuffing themselves for perceived control over their employees. You're no longer hiring or employing the best you can find...you're employing the best you can find that just so happens to want to work in or move to whatever specific city the company is in.

The ones who are good in their field and want to work remotely will just get poached or hired by a company who allows them to work remotely, and you lose that top talent. But hey like you said....good riddance I guess

Yep. If you have lots of positions without clear, measurable expectations that you check on regularly, it's your fault people are wasting company time.
