My dog wouldn't stop eating from the trash and would make herself sick like once every 6 months. We do have a lock on the trash but the kids or guests leave it open every now and then. I told my wife that if the dog eats something lethal then we are going to the vet to put her down. I love our dog but I am not going into to debt over an animal.
