Why is fed govt … code for tax payers … Paying for rebuilding bridge. Ship company/Ship owner/Insurance a s s-hats owe this bill
Has the ship company/ship owner/insurance cut a check yet? How long will it take for them to do so? Do we just sit on our hands waiting for that check to start cleanup and construction or do we get started now with our own funds and recover from them in due time?

Realistically litigation will take years. Those ships and shipping companies run with multiple different shell companies operating them. The company that had the contract is different than who owns the boat and that who runs the crew and then there’s the channel pilots. Throw in some likely maintenance issues, etc.
I don’t like it but the fed gov needs to step in to reopen the port as soon as possible.
