There's the Chesapeake Bay Bridge through Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel through Norfolk. I'm talking about the Bay Bridge that carries US 50/301 through Annapolis. It's barely even a detour when driving from NC to NJ. Depending on traffic on a normal day it's probably already faster than driving through Baltimore.

Take I-95 to I-495 in DC and around the SE side of DC to US 50.
