One more thing about leadership. I don't know how much of a difference it makes day-to-day, game-to-game. Probably a good bit for some teams and maybe not as much on others. But I think it does help prevent turning a 2-game losing streak into a 3 or 4 game one. And it helps shake off an arse-kicking in Game 2 of CWS Championship Series to be able to give an even bigger one the next day. Young guys look up to the leaders/vets, and if they see them calm and not freaking out, it makes it much easier to come to the park the next day and do the same. Teams can win with the coaches being the leader(s). But it's a lot easier if it's some of the players. We'll see how this particular one shakes out. Again, part of the beautiful journey that is a college baseball season.
