They have to finish in the Top 2 in the evening session against Minnesota and Oregon St plus either Boise St or BYU. LSU has scored 197.95 in all 6 meets since February 9th and hasn’t scored lower than 197.625 since the beginning of the season and season. Minnesota’s season high is 197.725 and second best is 197.525. Oregon St’s season best is only 197.575 and that was 2 months ago. Their last 2 meets have been below 197. Both teams would have to meet or beat their season highs and LSU have their worst meet since Week 2 for LSU not to make it to the Regional Finals.
There they will have to face the top 2 from the other session, probably Kentucky and Arkansas. Again, they just need to finish top 2. LSU defeated both teams at home and in the SEC Championships. Kentucky is a tough team with a season high of 198.1 (but lower than LSU’s NQS of 198.215) though they scored only 197.6 at the SECs. Arkansas also scored 198.1 at home a week ago, but only 197.05 at the SECs. Their second best is 197.65. Both are capable of putting up a good score, but have not done it as consistently (or as high) as LSU. LSU will need to have a good session, but 198+ should be enough.
