I actually did one in our old Volvo station wagon. You're right, the most difficult part was getting it in and out of the back door. Also did the sunroof cover. Turned out pretty well, not as good as a pro shop would have done, a wrinkle here or there, but 200% better than before. Tutorials on YT make it easy for a DIY'er.
