I did it once. Replaced it with a new one. It was an antique car though. Major pain in the arse. Screws stuck, clips broke. All mostly overhead work.
I would think all the plastics on newer cars will probably break or crack.
Worth it when you’re done . Looks so much better.

Oh yea, I’m sure whatever clips are there will have to be ordered…I bought new switch plates because my Indy said those retaining clips are shot once you pry them loose.
