I don’t buy this. The reason women are bad at basketball is because they aren’t athletic. It requires running, jumping, shooting, and physical contact - things women generally aren’t built for. That’s really about it and has nothing to do with starting the game at age 8 as opposed to age 12.

Watching women play basketball is like watching men play it underwater.

But that's not it. We're not talking about why women aren't as good as basketball as men. That is clearly about athleticism.

The question was about the parity in the women's game. The elite teams in WBB are vastly better than average teams. Elite teams in MBB are better than the average teams by a much smaller margin.

If we are comparing women to women, the answer can't simply be because athleticism.
