I have searched the site, and I did not see that this gem of a situation has been discussed...

DeGROAT

The officer says he was shown injuries sustained by both children. The officer then went to Central Middle School to interview Michelle Degroat and “determined that she had been aware of the incident and had taken the paint stick our her vehicle to give Frank to commit the act,” the warrant states.”

Additionally, it was learned that Frank had withheld the children’s food and forced them to take cold showers as punishment for their behavior,” the warrant says.

The arrest warrant for Frank Degroat says that an officer with the Gonzales Police Department was called to an elementary school to investigate allegations that two students had been beaten while at the Degroat home in Gonzales.

Based on the article, which it states that all charges were dropped, it appears that the crime has nothing to do with her being a teacher. Sure, the actions of her husband, which she apparently supports those actions, indicate she should be removed from being in charge of children. But the crimes at hand had nothing to do with her profession.
