if you want the Saints to compete we don't have a true no.1

I feel like this gets lost by most and not spoken about enough, but we need to sign a good FA WR or look for one early in the draft. Olave is a great #2 or even #1B, but he has yet to prove to be a true #1. He has made some improvements by making a few more contested catches last year but also still missed some that the true #1s make more consistently, and his RAC is another area that was poor his rookie season and first half of last season but it felt like he got better at that towards the end of last season.

Shaheed is great #3, probably even a great #2 when given more opportunities.

AT Perry flashed some last season but still obviously has a lot to prove. He's got a good big bodied frame and decent speed (4.47 forty) so he's obviously not as fast as Shaheed (4.30) or Olave (4.39) but he is faster than some of our successful bigger WRs both Michael Thomas (4.57) and Marques Colston (4.51).

Lynn Bowden remains unsigned
Shaq Davis is now with the Eagles.
Cedric Wilson had a good 2021 season, & last year had 296 yards which isn't much but would've good for 3rd in yards from our WRs.
Stanley Morgan is a special teamer

*Edit to add that I didn't answer the damn question . None of these are #1s, but should be able to provide good value contracts at this point for what I think their production could be.

Laviska Shenault I feel like he's got untapped potential, physical and should be able to pick up some of MT13s short-intermediate and over the middle routes. Above average run blocker. His build & play style was mentioned before to comparable to and expected to be used similar to Deebo Samuel in SF, and now that Kubiak is here from SF I wonder if he could in fact use him like that. It's a big IF, but IF we can finally have an offense that gets creative and tries to create and attack the weak points of defenses I think we could have a very intriguing offense with Taysom Hill & Shenault if he's used somewhat like Deebo was.

Michael Gallup I think he's still got potential to be a decent factor still, though he hasn't been much of one in a couple seasons in Dallas

Allen Robinson is older, but solid hands & blocker, could be a good veteran presence to the WR room for not too much money
