You say your wife wants some chickens….but the only person you mention taking care of them is you! I think you both should spend a day or two around some chickens. They are surprisingly nasty.

If more people had chickens and picked their own eggs the world would be a better place.
Something calming about watching chickens scratch for bugs, or see a mother hen with a bunch of babies following her.
