re:Hell, OU isn’t even a SEC program and we have more recent history with them (03/19) that will bring some juice to that series. I don’t hate the idea of having OU permanently like I do Vandy or Carolina

Heck of a point.
And to that point, I think it would be more beneficial for every school involved if we played some smaller TX or LA schools that are in need of exposure and on the come up. Instead of playing 1 of our 8 conf games vs vandy or SC, we could play Tulane, Tx State, UTSA, SMU, Baylor, Tx Tech etc..... or just add an extra conf game like they should have done in first place
I really am excited to have 2 elite programs join.
Obviously A&M and Mizzou are doing fine now, but before they got added, they were decent football programs at best, nothing special. At the time, I thought it was kinda an interesting add.
It always should have been Oklahoma and Texas and now that we got them, the SEC is fumbling a little bit trying to decide where to weigh new potential rivalries vs old ones. It's a tough decision.
Do I want to play florida and auburn every year going forward? 10000000%. A bit of a traditionalist myself. But like you said, we get to keep our main rivalries and big games which is huge, as well as open the door to new rivalries.
LOL a lot of back in forth in my head there, but overall I think that the problem would be easily solved with a 9 game conf schedule. I dont get why its so hard for them to do.
