Yeah, the condition book has some horrible races at the end of the meet. It's written to cater the cheaper horses that ran at Delta, since the racing ended. I agree 100% about the FG Oaks being a G1. Some really good fillies have come from that race to win the KY Oaks, and maintained success. It should have been since Rachel Alexandra. A few years ago, I politely asked Andy Serling on his Twitter as to why it can't get upgraded. His response was "its been an overrated race for years, and will never be G1." Apparently, he doesn't watch any races other than those shite bag rats in New York. My response was "you think the Wood or the Carter are legitimate G1"? (before being downgraded). Those trainers love the surface at FG, because it's similar to CD. Just like Ellis is a top training track, especially getting the 2 year olds ready for year 3. It's too bad FG can't be owned by someone else, rather than CDI. It would be Oaklawn purse money with a turf course. The casino money would stay there instead of CD skimming it and not putting it back into the horsemen’s needs.
