Why? Do you spew everything the cdc says?
Because those recommendations are based on the entirety of evidence available. I would not be doing a justice to my patients if I didn’t atleast tell them the recommendations.

Lots of docs recommend avoiding the shots altogether. The ones I know personally seem to do their own evaluation of studies and base their decisions on their experiences with covid. Is that not what you do, how did you come to a different conclusion based on studies like this?
I have done my research on it for years. I base my recommendations based upon the individual patient. However I still tell them the CDC recommends it even if I don’t think they need it. That way the patient can make an informed decision.

ETA: Lots of docs still prescribe atenolol for high blood pressure even though there are much better options out there. Lots of docs still prescribe antibiotics for sinus symptoms that have lasted less than a week even though it’s most likely a viral infection at that point. Lots of doctors still prescribe antibiotics for the flu even though the flu is a virus and antibiotics don’t work on viruses. Lots of doctors prescribe testosterone supplements to help males with fatigue even though testosterone therapy hasn’t been shown to be effective for fatigue. Lots of doctors prescribe antidepressants for depression just because the PHQ9 score was high without asking additional questions and seeing if someone is actually depressed or not. Lots of doctors prescribe Ambien long term for insomnia even though it actually worsens insomnia in the long term. Just because lots of doctors do something doesn’t make it right.

So what do you recommend? Do you recommend following the cdc?
