When I was participating in the jury selection, the judge had bench warrants written up for folks that did not show.

I assume if there's enough responders, they won't actively go looking for someone. But if you get pulled over for speeding (or anything) and you have a bench warrant, you're taking a ride in the back of a cruiser.

Same for me the couple of times that I have been called and had to show up. But that was a couple of decades ago. I did just get a summons, though. I will have to call next month to see if I have to go.

This. The day you get pulled over for speeding 5 over and the copper was going to just issue a warning - then he runs your data and finds a bench warrant - you are going to jail. You will be let go but maybe if a Friday afternoon its not til Mon since they close.

Thats what bench warrants do, they sit and collect dust until you are stopped next time. Then they suck.
