Shield if you are an Android person or want to use nefarious streaming sites.
Apple if you are an Apple person and especially if you have a lot of content in iTunes
Roku Ultra is you want something simple, stable, cheap
Firestick if you want to be disappointed
Apple has arguably the best under-interface but IMO you can get used to any of them. Both Roku and Sheild need a interface update.
