Idk why PGAT and Monahan think they’re just going to give up
They won’t give up,. But buying players hasnt worked for them. They haven’t made a dent into being a reputable main steam golf tour. What has getting Rahm changed for them?

They realize golf can’t support a divided front and be seen as main stream. They know they have to have the tour to be the main ticket

Y’all can hate me, hate Jay, etc etc, but PIF and all their money can’t buy what they want without the Tour. They have a host of fantastic players right now and they simply tread water. And it isn’t really their fault. Golf just isn’t a big enough product to support what they want. They need the established Tour

Rahm by far was the most valuable asset. It brought them legitimacy. It was the first time you and every PGAT fan looked around and said, “Oh, they’re not just going away because they have shitty CW ratings.” Even Rory changed his tone on LIV knowing he couldn’t burn every bridge since two of his Ryder Cup teammates joined on.

They don’t. PGAT works primarily in the US. It’s a US golf tour. I would say LIV is the first legitimate attempt at a World Tour and they’re only growing in year 3. They are working through different revenue streams to make up for the lackluster US ratings like having cities and sites pay for a LIV tournament. LIV Hong Kong was a legitimate success. Maybe not in the eyes of US viewers but, that’s only one piece of the pie.

I think people are conflating lack of interest in the US with lack of interest in Europe, South America, Australia and Asia. These are untapped areas that LIV is specifically trying to target. And they’re doing it with success.

I’m sorry but the whole “exhibition league” narrative is old and laughable even to most PGAT fanboys
