Independents are always important, but Biden has a bunch of catching up to his own base or at least those that voted for him in 2020. Trump has his vote locked in. With RFK on the ballot in Georgia and Arizona and most like a majority of the states, the Democrats are even more of a bind. There isn't a battle ground state Trump will not win if RFK is on those ballots, and could win states like Michigan, Wisconsin and even New Hampshire.

The significance of RFK this election cycle is way overstated. He's no Ross Perot, or as a spectator during elections back in the bad ol' days, no Strom Thurmond or *gasp* George Wallace. I would be shocked if he gets more that 2-3% of the vote. This year's election is waaay too important to fritter away on a candidate with 0.0001% chance of getting any electoral votes.
