how do we fix this? Sincerely support the cops but not blindly, and turn it back into a real profession. practically how to do this? frick all if a know.

It’s getting harder for departments to find quality candidates. People just don’t want to get into Law Enforcement and good people are leaving. It’s a real problem. Some towns like Bastrop only have enough manpower to run day shifts from 6-6. They pay Morehouse SO to patrol at night.

I know a bunch of good cops that worked BRPD but Murphy Paul’s sorry fricking arse ran them off because they weren’t yes men and wanted to actually do real police work.

The urban cities are probably lost forever. They are too far gone and not coming back.

Have had several police officers put in applications with the Sales Department at my company. We are in a military / law enforcement aligned market. When asked they all say they are looking to get out of LE because it's thankless and they constantly worry they are going to be put in a position of having to use force and then getting pilloried by some liberal DA.

And these are the good ones that are looking to jump ship. The only ones staying are the ones with no other prospects. That's scary.
