Mrs. Vader and I are on the cusp of being empty nesters. Our youngest will be 16 this summer and already is either at some school or church function most nights, or in her room. Most of the time.
As for adjusting, that’s easy. We are each others best friend and have been for almost 28 years. We love just being together. Doesn’t matter what we’re doing or if we’re doing anything at all. We just enjoy one another’s company. But we do stay active. We like to, as we call it, “gallivant” on weekends. We usually find some small town a day’s drive away that looks interesting to visit. And we each have our own separate hobbies. My wife loves to garden and build puzzles, while I, as most here already know, love to build military scale models. So, while we each have our own separate interests that we both enjoy doing, we also enjoy spending time together. I think it’s a healthy balance.
