I wonder why the Kavanaugh rioters who disrupted the official proceedings of his confirmation aren't being hunted down, arrested and sentenced to years in prison?

Some of them got a $50 fine!

What about all those cars I see speeding on the interstate and none of them get a ticket.

I think the confusion comes from a general lack of understanding of basics parts of political science.

The strength of a state is measured by its ability to peacefully transfer power. That means that any attempt to disrupt that is a critical attack on the state itself and our system as a whole.

The protestors for Kavanaugh had no realistic aspirations for stopping the proceedings and while it can technically be the case, in this instance it did not represent a transfer of power.

January 6th was a much more serious matter, and those that participated are being dealt with accordingly. The only ways that you can disagree with that is A) you do not have a basic understanding of government, or B) you hate America.
