I liked Cloud's swords better in Remake for sure. But I did like some of the ones in Rebirth, especially the last one

Yeah replaying chapters for different outcomes, getting 88 treasures for Johnny so I can play one wing angel on the piano, and playing on hard mode and trying to do the brutal and legendary VRs I’ve noticed some of the really fine details in the less noticeable weapons. Specifically Reds, Caits, and Tifas. I still think Clouds swords compared look like shite in rebirth. The hardedge equivalent which was iconic and your highest attack weapon looks like a huge saw. The final sword looks pretty cool I guess but the stinger in remake is better. The purple sword is probably the best sword in the game as it gets reprieve but looking at that weird glow for too long annoys me. The only 2 designs I legit like are the second one you get that looks the most like an actual sword and teaches your the thunderfirebolt whatever move and the worst sword in the game by far since it has 4 materia slots max. Can’t recall it’s name but it’s the one you get infinity’s edge from its really cool. I think everyone else’s are at worse equal with Barret or better for all else

ETA it’s the crystal sword. And sleek saber is the other one and imo the best looking one. It’s also probably the second best sword to use too if you don’t want reprieve (it’s not really necessary you can cast reraise on yourself for 35mp or summon Phoenix) and use two of its 4 slots to up your ATB 10% faster each so 20% total. It’s basically a must use for the Legendary where cloud fights alone.
