Question

Around late November I asked thos board for some advice about dropping a few pounds and getting back into some for of shape rather than round.
So far I have lost around 25 lbs buy giving up a great deal of sugar, uptake in water and next to zero fast food.
I am now ready to start exercising. I can't walk for a long distance constantly because it kills my back. However this morning I did a stair stepping exercising in my house (using just the ball off Mt foot to go up and down).
I did it in a 'form of HIIT' where I'd steps for two minutes and rest for one. I didn’t/don't want to over do it on my first day but my question is....is that effective (worth my time) to do that. I am not looking at staying at 15 minutes and eventually would like to get up to 15 minutes without the break and then move up from there.
My back won't allow me to walk a great distance (say 1 mile or 45 minutes) however thos didn't hurt my back.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to fix your back. What exactly is wrong with it

Scoliosis mid and lower back (lower Scoliosis is what is probably giving me sciatica that I have) I have spinal stenosis and degenerate disc disease. Arthritis (which I know is common and most everyone has). I also have some form of bone spurs coming off of the spine. It's not technically bone spurs but it's basically bone spurs is what he said.

I have scoliosis and have had sciatic issues in the past. Any type of swimming helps but also basic lower back and hamstring stretches help a ton after any exercise. I haven’t had issues in years.
