who has an in with the Nicholls St. Football Program. Said Miles was in Thibodeaux talking to the Nicholls coaches about the option because LSU is going to have to defend it in the Chick Fil A bowl.
He said that Miles watched film with the nicholls coaches and his jaw was dropped the whole time wathcing the film of the option as if he was thinking, "Holy shite, how the hell am I going to defend this? What are we gonna do?" He said Miles new little about anything having to do with the option.
Take it for what its worth, but I thought this was some good info.

This sounds very reasonable to me.
I mean, why would you call a fellow SEC coach who just got beat by Ga Tech and has the most recent game film available to review when you could go to Thibodaux and get advice from the Nichols State staff?
I heard he was going to Booker T Washington in NO next and ask them how to get our placekicker to get the kickoffs in the endzone.

Yeah Miles has never seen the option before. Not at Michigan, Colorado or Oklahoma St. No one has ever played the option in the Big Ten or Big Twelve. The option is a huge mystery...

This is so stupid, I registered on this site just to respond. I don't like Miles at all, but this is just nonsense.
Gary Barnett and Les Miles IMPLEMENTED THE OPTION at Colorado in the 80s. He and Barnett studied films of all the teams that were running it and designed the offense that fit their talent. That same offense was used when CU won their national championship.
Les ran quite a bit of option as an OC at OSU in the 90s. In fact, he had Texas so screwed up in '97 with it, that he ran it with an empty backfield and the defensive end played the non-existent pitch man, resulting in a score (OSU won 42-16 by the way) and about 50,000 fans laughing their collective asses off. This story is just ridiculous.
