All these people swearing Tx is perfect never mention the issues here and the difference in COL. they tax you to death in Tx. Crime rates aren’t non existent. Worst of all, everything and everyone is super generic. The homes are almost all lookalike cookie cutter. The people are all transplants mostly from CA, NY and the Midwest. Texas is a place where people get up, go to work, come back home, and repeat. I’ll be the first to admit that this state doesn’t offer many amenities aside from jobs. Our beaches are trash, the climate is awful, and we have no real scenery unless you consider West Texas “scenic”. People view TX as a place to build their career and then retire to Florida when they have enough money
