FYI to folks going Be prepared to sit in traffic for 3 hours getting in and 2 hours getting out. Unless you wanna head to the base at daylight. Military airshows are a cluster frick. One way in and one way out. It’s not built for efficiency.
The air show will have a small addition to the traffic already down there due to the Plaquemines LNG project. There are 8,000 workers 30 minutes south of Belle Chasse every day. LA 23 north is fricked in the afternoons even on Saturdays.

This past Sunday I drove down there for the first time in 25 years to Myrtle Grove.
I was surprised at all the development in Jesuit Bend. I guess that is where half the parish relocated after Katrina.
At least Entergy is being proactive on the new lines where the MidBarataria Diversion is planned for.

The PLNG Project is changing their Saturday and Sunday schedule that weekend to help accommodate the air show.
The work hours will 4:00AM - 1:30PM
